UK Mother's Day

It's mother's day here in the UK.

I'm trying not to be sad.

I'm trying not to think about it too much.

We will see how that goes.

I think this one will be easier to ignore since it's not the mother's day I grew up with. The US one in May will be much harder for me.

I just wish I didn't have two mother's days to get through this year. It's one of the not so fun parts of being an expat.

For all my fellow BLM's here in the UK, I hope you have a gentle day.

  2. I didn't realise it was Mother's Day there until I received heartfelt texts and an email from back home. I too know its going to be harder come May when it will be over here - my thoughts are with you today, I hope you have gentle one too.

  5. It is a poignant reminder at what we don't have, but remember no one can take away the fact that you are a mother. You were a good mum to your babe, and fingers and legs crossed, you'll hopefully become a mum once more when your little one's sibling comes along. Sending lots of warm wishes to you today, and hopes that you can still enjoy some part of the day. Short of that try and convince yourself that it is just a Hallmark holiday. That's sort of what I've done since Pips is gone, Belle is away, and hubs is at work.

  6. I just re-read the date you lost your son and realised it was exactly six months to the day that we lost Pippa. She was six months when we lost her. I hope somewhere out there they are looking after each other, and blowing their mums kisses right now.
