Microblog Monday- Preschool

Frostina has started preschool and the transition has not been easy.

I had to pick her up the first day after a few hours because she wouldn't stop crying. *Hear that, that's my heart breaking a little bit*

It's still very early days but she cries every day when I drop her off. And that makes me sad.

Plus, this has triggered severe separation anxiety with her and nightmares. Oh, and now she's afraid of the dark because of the scary dreams.

Please tell me this will pass soon. I'm not sure how long I can take it. My happy, sunny little girl is an anxiety ridden ball of emotions right now.

  1. Oh, I'm sorry. Transitions can be hard, I know. When our sons started day car at 30 months of age, after having been at home with a nanny or one of their parents prior to that their entire lives, one of my sons had a hard time, too, and both of them had a certain adjustment period.

I do think it will pass, but I know it isn't easy.

  2. It took us a few months to settle in once we started preschool. We started in September, and life didn't calm until December. There were A LOT of tears. All I can say is that it is so hard until you get through it. But once you're through it, it's a good thing.

  3. It took my 5-year-old (who had already gone to pre-K at the same school) a solid month before the horrible crying/pleading stopped when I dropped her off in the morning. But it all went away in due time, and the same will happen with Frostina. Good luck!
